Mocha Mousse is Pantone's Colour of the Year 2025

Mixing humble and earthy brown with the smooth and silky pleasure of coffee and chocolate gives us Mocha Mousse, Pantone’s colour of the year 2025. There has been some mixed reaction, but like all of its predecessors, there will be many translations of Mocha Mousse in 2025.

The nearest hue in the Colour Me Beautiful swatch wallet is Cocoa, which doesn’t feature in every palette. Although Mocha Mousse is a neutral and will go with any accent colour, the most important thing is HOW it is worn, and as always there’s a how for everyone.

If you have a light and/or softness to your look, you will find Mocha Mousse to be a neutral that will work with lots of colours that you already own.

However, if you have a stronger look, you’re going to need to give it some oomph to balance this. So, opt for deeper, more dramatic shades.

If you have warmth, consider combining with warmer shades in your palette (wearing with navy and pewter won’t cut it for you as there is no richness).

And, if you have a cool look, you might want to look for taupe or even pewter shades instead of Mocha Mousse, which will work better with your blue-undertone colours.

If you love it, there are already lots of similar shades in the shops (remember, you don’t have to match the colour exactly, choose a shade that flatters you the most) and always remember your HOW to wear colour.
